I. Core Functions
Protecting thread integrity
During loading, unloading and transportation of oil pipes and casing, by covering the thread surface, it prevents thread deformation or abrasion caused by collision and friction, and ensures the sealing and reliability of subsequent connections.

Main types

General-purpose protectors
Caps/Bushings: Suitable for thread protection of conventional tubing and casing ends, made of polyethylene (PE) or composite materials, taking into account light weight and impact resistance.
Quick-release wire guards: Quickly dismantled by mechanical tapping or screwing, reducing manual operation time and avoiding secondary damage.
Specialized reinforced
Metal thread guard (e.g., steel wire thread guard): embedded in the screw holes to enhance the strength of threaded connection and repair the worn parts, especially suitable for aluminum, magnesium and other low-strength materials or frequent dismantling scenarios.
Material Characteristics
Polymer material
Such as polyethylene (PE), nylon, etc., with low temperature resistance (-46 ° C to 80 ° C), impact resistance and lightweight advantages, suitable for conventional transportation and storage environment.
Metallic materials
Stainless steel or alloy materials, providing higher mechanical strength and high temperature resistance, commonly used in downhole tools or aerospace high-precision thread protection.
Application Scenarios
Petroleum pipe field
Protect oil pipe and casing threads and sealing surfaces to reduce the risk of damage during loading and unloading.
Used in conjunction with cementing tools (e.g. floating hoops, graded hoops) to ensure the reliability of downhole tubing column connections.
Mechanical Fabrication and Repair
Repair damaged internal threaded holes to restore the strength of the connection and avoid scrapping the whole piece.
Extend thread life in frequently dismantled equipment (e.g. engines, hydraulic systems).
